D.O.T.S. for Kids - Dallas, TX

Clinic OT working with children and their families in educational and/or clinical context. Primary population served: ADHD, ASD, Down Syndrome, Dysgraphia, Delayed Milestones in Childhood, Unspecified Lack of Coordination, and Sensory Processing Differences impacting function in child’s natural contexts. Assessments utilized: PDMS-2, BOT-2, Beery VMI, Child SP-2.

The Warren Center - Richardson, TX

Clinic OT working with children 3-8 years old and their families. Primary diagnostic population served: ASD, Delayed Milestones in Childhood, Unspecified Lack of Coordination, ADHD, and Generalized Muscle Weakness impacting developmental milestones. Assessments utilized: PDMS-2, BOT-2, Child SP-2, PEDI or PEDI-CAT.  

-Selected for the Comprehensive Clinical Evaluation Autism Team

-Awarded two company-wide awards; Team Player Award and Notable Newcomer.  

September 2021 - December 2021

Clinical Rotation - OCH - Dallas, TX

FW2 Inpatient Pediatric Rehab Hospital, Clinical Rotation. Daily caseload covered 5 hours of direct patient care. Initial evaluations conducted 1-2 times per week. Primary client diagnoses treated: inpatient and outpatient feeders, sensory disorders, pulmonary rehabilitation, CIMT, and TBI.  Assessments utilized: PDMS-2, SP-2, SPM, WeeFIM, Melbourne Assessment, and parent interview/clinical observation.  

May 2021 - August 2021

Clinical Rotation - Encompass Health- Ft Worth, TX

FW2 Inpatient Rehab Hospital, Clinical Rotation. Caseload covered 7 patients per day, with 1-3 daily initial evaluations. Responsibilities included evaluations, 30–60-minute treatment sessions, ADL training, team meeting, family education, discharge planning, and daily group session.  Assessments utilized: Modified Barthel Index, ADL checklist with GG grid entry, ROM/ MMT, home assessments.

Texas Woman's University | PhD candidate of Occupational Therapy

I love research and writing. I want to contribute to the body of knowledge and professional  advancement of Occupational Therapy to facilitate community engagement for persons with chronic conditions, including neurodivergence. 

2019 - 2021

Texas Woman's University | Masters of Occupational Therapy

Decided to become an OT due to personal and professional experiences with sensory processing differences and impact on functional engagement and childhood development in my community. Served as community service chair in my SOTA chapter, worked as a GRA for Dr. Tina Fletcher, and engaged in a research project with Dr. Gail Poskey. 

1999-2001

Baylor University | Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Public Relations

Studied journalism with a concentration in public relations and a minor in political science. I had an intense interest in community government, programming, and advocacy.
